What you are doing

Paper is an optional observation mode that runs a selected strategy against current or delayed market data using virtual executions. It never submits a real exchange order and does not require an exchange API key.

Why it matters

Paper can show the strategy event flow, virtual positions, cycle progress, Sentinel observations and Shield decisions under the data received during the trial. It is useful for learning the interface, not for proving future profitability.

Before you start

Paper uses current or delayed market data available to the platform. Exchange fees, perpetual-futures funding and modeled slippage are applied under the published methodology. Virtual fills can still differ from executable live fills.

Step by step

  1. 01Replay reruns a fixed strategy over a historical dataset and can cover years in seconds.
  2. 02Paper observes the market only during the active trial window.
  3. 03Replay results are historical simulations; Paper results are forward virtual observations.
  4. 04Neither mode places real orders or guarantees a Live result.

What you should see

The Paper trial lasts seven days, is available once per eligible client and supports one selected strategy. It does not renew automatically, collect payment, activate Live or convert virtual positions into real positions.

Security check

Paper must not request an exchange password, API key, API secret, recovery phrase or withdrawal permission. If any such request appears, stop and contact Support.

Common problems

Why does a Paper fill differ from the chart?

Modeled slippage, fees, funding, data timing and order rules can produce a different virtual execution.

Does a profitable Paper week prove the strategy is safe?

No. Seven days is a short observation window and may not contain a difficult market regime.

Can I extend the trial?

The standard trial is time-limited and single-use. A completed trial remains visible as historical Paper evidence where the platform supports it.
